The Board of Regents met at the call of the President.  Present:

~C. C. Batterman, C. N. Noteware and A. N. Fisher."



The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved.



Upon statement by the Secretary that at the last meeting of this

~Board the N. 1/2 of S.E. 1/4 of Section 5, J13 N. R.9 E., and"

~the E. 1/2 of S.W. 1/4 of Section 32, J14 N. R.19 E., were order

ed selected under different Grants at the instance of different

individuals.  He was instructed to notify the State Register

~that the application bearing the latest date should be rejected,

and the order for the selection of the same at the instance of

~R. Nobblet, was rescinded."



~A letter from Messrs. Britton & Gray, Attorneys at Washington,"

~under date of February 25, was read, ordered on file (see file"

~""B & G-Eight""), and the Secretary instructed to reply.  The"

~items in said communication relating to conflicts, etc., were"

referred to C. N. Noteware for adjustment.



~On motion of A. N. Fisher, the following was adopted, to wit,"

viz:



~    WHEREAS, applications made by this Board in behalf of the"

    State of Nevada for lands selected in satisfaction of Grants

~    made by the United States, have not been acted upon by the"

    proper attention at Washington as promptly as the interests

~    of this State demand; and WHEREAS, Hon. C. N. Noteware,"

~    Secretary of State and a member of this Board of Regents,"

~    proposes a visit to the eastern states, THEREFORE,"



~    RESOLVED, that he be requested to proceed to Washington as"

~    the representative of this Board, and to use his influence"

~    to secure proper attention to applications from this State,"

    which during the past two years have been allowed to accum-

    ulate in the General Land Office.



~A form of Patent, similar, except in title and arrangement of"

~signatures, to the form more in use for 16th and 36th sections,"

~to be given purchasers of State Land, was submitted by C. N."

~Noteware, adopted and ordered transmitted to the State Register.
