A meeting of the Board of Regents was held at the call of the
President. Present: H. G. Blasdel, C. N. Noteware and A. N.
Fisher.
A communication from the State Register under date September 7,
1868 was read, ordered on file (see file "Hh"), and selection
of E. 1/2 of S.W. 1/4 and W. 1/2 of S.E. 1/4 of Section 11, J14
N. R.18 E., 160 acres, applied for by C. Bonner, was ordered
under the Public Building Grant. Selection of the S.W. 1/4 of
N.E. 1/4, E. 1/2 of N.W. 1/4 fraction and N.E. 1/4 of S.W. 1/4
of Section 10, J13 N. R.18 E., 147 50/100 acres, applied for by
John Syms, accepted as 160 acres. S. 1/2 of N.W. 1/4 of Section
14, J15 N. R.20 E., 80 acres, applied for by John V. Aspen. N.W.
1/4 of Section 4, J15 N. R.19 E., 160 acres, applied for by James
H. King, to be taken as 820 acres. S.W. 1/4 of Section 15, J15
N. R.19 E., 160 acres applied for by John Shawl. E. 1/2 and S.W.
1/4 of S.E. 1/4 of Section 8, J20 N. R.24 E., 120 acres, applied
for by John L. Black, to be taken as 240 acres, was ordered under
the Internal Improvement Grant.
A communication from the State Register under date September 15
was read, ordered on file (see file "Ii"), and selection of
tracts of land applied for by J. L. Eyster, Charles Adams, John
C. Watkins, B. Recangnia and J. L. Reid amounting in total to
1080 acres, situated in J40 and 42 at R.39 and 40 E., and des-
cribed in said communication was ordered under the Internal
Improvement Grant.
The communication of the Register laid on table at last meeting
was taken up and selection of Lots 1, 2, 4 and 5 and the N. 1/2
of the N.E. 1/4, all in the N. 1/2 of Section 22, J16 N. R.18 E.,
212 40/100 acres, applied for by H. C. Lillie, was ordered for
480 acres under Internal Improvement Grant.
C. N. Noteware, Agent to designate tracts of land desirable for
selection by this Board on behalf of the State, reported lists
marked I, II, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX and tracts therein des-
cribed were ordered selected under the Grant for 500,000 Acres.
On motion of C. N. Noteware, it was,
RESOLVED, that the State Register be requested, upon filing
lists of State selections in the local Land Offices, to
forward duplicate lists to Messrs. Britton & Gray, Attorneys
of this Board at Washington, D. C., and that he be requested
to forward duplicates of lists heretofore filed by him
immediately.
