At the call of the President, the Board of Regents met at the
Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction. Present:
H. G. Blasdel, C. N. Noteware and A. N. Fisher.
A communication from the State Register, "No. 5 Selections for
Individuals", (minimum), was presented, placed on file (see
file "L") and selection ordered in part satisfaction of Public
Building Grant, of lands described as follows:
N.E. 1/4 Section 29 J14 N. of Railroad 19 E. 160 acres
N.W. 1/4 Section 28 J14 N. of Railroad 19 E. 160 acres
N.W. 1/4 Section 29 J14 N. of Railroad 19 E. 160 acres
S.E. 1/4 Section 18 J13 N. of Railroad 20 E. 160 acres
N.W. 1/4 Section 29 J13 N. of Railroad 19 E. 160 acres
N.E. 1/4 Section 31 J13 N. of Railroad 20 E. 160 acres
N.W. 1/4 Section 32 J13 N. of Railroad 20 E. 160 acres
Said lands are situated in Douglas County and aggregate 1120
acres.
A letter from the Register, under same date, requesting advice
concerning certain lands situated between the 20 and 25 mile
lines of the C. P. R. R. reservaton, was presented, placed on
file (see file "M") and the Secretary was instructed to communi-
cate to the Register the opinion of the Board that the lands
described must be regarded as double minimum lands until official
information to the contrary has been received at the local United
States Land Office; that selection can be made as per application
of M. S. Hurd upon deposit at double minimum rates; that the
application of F. Dunker being for a portion of an odd section
cannot at present be formally entertained.
The question of compensation of State Mineralogist was taken up
pending consideration of which the Board adjourned to meet on
the 26th at 10 A.M.
